A Song Welcomes People To Fair

Sunday school queen, 16-year-old Elaine Riley, presents a bouquet to Mrs. Telford, with the minister, the Rev. Russell Blizzard, and Mrs. Rigby looking on.

The song "Hey, Ho, Come to the Fair" was how senior scholars of Trinity Methodist Sunday School, Padiham welcomed people to the church's annual autumn fair. The children sang their own version of the song to fit in with the seven different stalls at the sale, held at the church on Saturday 28th November 1970. It was opened by Mrs. G. Telford, who has been a member of the church for 40 years. Chairman was Mrs. D. Rigby. In the evening a concert was given by the Accrington Singers. More than £580 was raised from the day's events.
