The film crew with Mr Hanna outside his workshop. A previously unpublished image.
A Granada TV unit was in town on Wednesday, 9th December 1970, making a short film about Burnley film-maker Mr Sam Hanna for the news programme, Six-O-One. The unit, comprising seven engineers, cameramen and interviewer Paul Barnes, spent about five hours in Burnley and filmed Mr Hanna at his workshop. Mr Hanna explained to Mr Barnes how he started making films more than 40 years ago, and showed him a film about chair making taken at Chipping. With his wife Edith, Mr Hanna had lunch at the Keirby Hotel with the TV men. It is expected that the film will be shown on Six-O-One some time before Christmas.
