A soccer trio on the ball - these three local girls took part in a ladies football match at Bullholme, Barrowford on Saturday. And for the girl in the centre, it was her second sporting appearance of the weekend - the previous day she had kept goal for Lancashire school girl’s hockey team.
She is 18-year-old Ann Kershaw of Rigg St, Nelson, who has been playing soccer for about two years. She has played hockey however since going to Nelson Secondary Technical School and has represented the County on two occasions. Saturday's match been a two all draw against Cheshire at Liverpool.
The other girls in the picture are left Margaret Cannon (16), Burnley Road, Colne, and Margaret Starkey Albert St, Brierfield.
