Burnley Colne and Nelson Joint Transport undertaking's inspectors held a dinner at the Lin Hong Chinese Restaurant on Monday to mark the recent retirement of Inspector Walter Bailey after more then 40 years service. Mr. Bailey who is 62 was presented with a barometer by the undertaking's general manager, Mr. G. Parry.
Among the guests at the dinner were Mr. Parry, Mr. D. Chaplin (deputy manager), Mr. L. Graham (Chief Engineer), Mr. D. Hindley (assistant engineer) and personnel from the traffic office. After the meal the inspectors and their guests enjoyed a social evening at the New 77 Club Brierfield.
