King Stanislaus (Michael Hewitt) and Queen Ermintrude (Michael Morris) lay down the law to Prince Florizel (Janice Marsh) and Beauty (Vivien Mullins).

From an article by Norman Powell:
There was a full house on Wednesday night, 5th January 1972, at Padiham St John's when the Amateur Dramatic Society presented the pantomime "The Sleeping Beauty" for the benefit of the Leonard Cheshire Homes. "The Sleeping Beauty" is a gay, colourful production, with some excellent singing, boisterous comedy, and the Margaret Boyle dancers.

The production is notable for the outstanding performance of principal boy Janice Marsh, who has all the attributes associated with the role. Janice sings well, moves well, and has the confidence and sparkle which captivates an audience. Vivien Mullins by the very nature of the part of Princess Beauty has much less to do, but she moved with dignity and charm, and gave a first-class performance. The comedy was in the hands of the King and Queen, Michael Hewitt and Michael Morris, and they made an excellent team. Beatrice Coupe was a very effective witch, foiled in the end by the power of the Fairy Queen (Lesley Howarth). Edna Waite played the Lord Chamberlain, and Tommy was played by Christopher Howarth. Winifred Hall and Mary Hall did well in the comedy roles of Willy and Nilly. The accompanist was Ada Johnson, and the show was directed by Jack Smith. Members of the chorus included Beryl Andrew, Pauline Alexander, Lesley Alsop, Anne Boat, Gladys Bailey, Ursula Corcoran, Kathleen Dunleavy, Mary Edmondson, Geraldine Flynn, Catherine Howarth, Mary Hanrahan, Annetta Hasty, Jeanette Howarth, Jude Hall, Peter Hall, Josephine Lord, Peter Leyland, Helen Waterworth and Margaret Waterworth.
