The Day The Rains Never Came

Their job completed, fireman run some water off into the fountain after acting as rainmakers for the Costain's representatives.

It was the day that the rains certainly didn't come down for the men from Costain's, who were in Burnley to see if the Market Square's surface drainage was working properly. They arrived to find the town bathed in glorious sunshine, with not a cloud in the sky. So the men from Burnley Fire Brigade were called in to create an artificial rainstorm with enough puddles to satisfy even the contingent from Costain's the construction company which built the Market Square complex. In the event the surface drainage system was found to be working satisfactory - and nobody got drenched with rain in the process.
