Lowerhouse Groundsman Sid Giltrow, who came in for some criticism last week.
Sid Giltrow came in for some criticism from Burnley supporters after their team had lost five wickets for nine runs last Saturday. Commented Sid "I didn't hear so much about the wicket when Lowerhouse were out for 43. They blamed the low score on their good bowling and our bad batting."
I suspect that Sid enjoyed his exchanges with the visiting camp as much as did the critics. There was much of the old derby day atmosphere which the rain enlivened rather than applied a damper. Both sides needed four points, particularly Burnley.
From a report by Don Smith about forthcoming matches.
