Prize Is A Christmas Party Dress

Mrs. Brenda Goodger (centre), makes a beautiful bride. Admiring her are, from the left, Kathleen Evans, Mrs. Elliott, Mrs. Barker, 9-year-old model, Helen Hardy and Karen Roberts.
At a fashion show held at Lowerhouse Cricket Club, Mrs. Vicky Elliott, who put on the show, promised to make a dress valued at 5 for the winner of a competition. The show was organised by the chairman of the Ladies' Section of the Society of St. George, Mrs. N. Barker, and her committee, proceeds in aid of the society. Mrs. Barker's husband is president of the society. Models of all ages displayed a full range of winter clothing, including bridal and children's wear.
The winner of the dress competition, Mrs. Winifred Taylor, of Coal Clough Lane, decided she would like a new party dress for Christmas, and Mrs. Elliott will make it.
