FROM the overture to the finale, Colne Operatic Society’s autumn production ‘Die Fledermaus’ is a bubbling extravaganza. The professionalism of Colne’s lead role trio - Joan Burniston, Lindon Amison and Peter Wilson - beyond doubt. Dancers: Anne Amison, Morag Davis, Carol Hartley, Nicola Hatfield, Yula Smrt and Julie Warhurst enhanced the production performing a colourful Hungarian dance routine. A ballet routine by the dancers drew deserved cheers.
It was refreshing to see a number of younger members in the chorus. They provided a polished backing and their dance routines, choreographed by Susan Chippendale, added professionalism. They were Margaret Bird, Janet Bogle, Janet Booth, Jean Buehring, Michelle Dodds, Brian Earnshaw, Gillian Herbert, Stuart James, Pan McGee, Ann Mason, Tom Metcalfe, Barbara Preston, Brian Shaw, Betty Siddall and Freda E Smith.
