Mr and Mrs M. Hudson (Pirate King and the Mikado), their seven-year-old daughter Carol, dressed as a fairy, and teenagers Ann Blakley and Ann Walker.
A Party with a difference was a night at the opera, when Burnley Gilbert and Sullivan Society held its Christmas party at Ebenezer schoolrooms. Members arrived for the fancy-dress competition colourfully attired as characters from "The Mikado," "The Yeomen of the Guard," "The Pirates of Penzance" and other favourites.
