SINCE 1976, Christmas has not been complete for thousands of Pendle children without a visit to the Colne Municipal Hall and the annual pantomime.
For many, it will be their first taste of live theatre, and the enjoyment they get from hissing the wicked witches or laughing with the pantomime dames is probably only matched by the enjoyment that the adults get from seeing them so happy.
The Debbie Trinder dancing team will be taking part in this year's pantomime, “Puss in Boots.” Already it has attracted very good advanced bookings.
As usual the preparations for this year’s production began almost as soon as the last one finished. The professional agency, Nelson Firth Productions, which has handled the pantomimes for the past four years, is presenting the popular comedian Duggie Clark as Simple Simon, Eddie Casswell as the King, Pauline Lesley as the Princess, and Debbie Philips as principal boy.
