BABES-in-the-Wood was certainly a very apt choice for the St George's, Nelson, community children’s pantomime this year, with the youngest cast member being only three. They played to a packed audience at the Civic Theatre, Nelson. The director, Miss Janet Parkinson, 19, of Ripon Street, Nelson, was naturally pleased with the results. She said: “We have been rehearsing since September so it was a relief that everything went well.” The cast of over 40 produced a flawless performance delighting many anxious parents in the audience. This was the second annual pantomime produced by the group from St Georges, Nelson, and it ran for three nights. The main characters were played by Frances Pope, Sean Keating, Janet Parkinson, Keeley Pickles, Clare Parkinson, Elisabeth Pope, Theresa Duckworth, Maureen Keating, Glenn Keating, Roma Broadley, Claire Pemberton, Maria Clark, Margaret Duckworth and Paul Bradshaw.
