THERE was fun and festive high spirits as pantomime time came to Pendle this week.
Boxing Day saw the opening of the Duggie Chapman pantomime “Aladdin” at Colne Municipal Hall, which comes to the local stage by courtesy of Pendle Council Leisure Services Department.
And for the children it was fun and laughter all way as the proceedings got into their hilarious stride.
Star of the show was comedian Tony Peers, who most people will remember from his appearance in the television programme "The Big Time”. The cast was as follows: Chinese Policemen, Steve Hutch and Philip Lockley; Emperor of Peking, Brian Goddard; Aladdin, Anne Duval; Abanazar, Leslie Melville; Widow Twankey, Wayne Allen; Wishie Washie, Tony Peers; Princess Lotus, Kim Allen; Slave of the Ring, Debbie Curtes; Genie of the Lamp, Eric Hamilton. Chorus of villagers merchants, attendants and courtiers, the Coronet Corps de Ballet and the Trlnder Juveniles. Music was provided by the Peter-Lynn Duo.
