The vicar turned villain for the annual pantomime of St. Luke's Church, Brierfield, when the Rev. H. A. Reid played one of the two robbers in the parish production of "Mother Goose." Capacity audiences turned up for both performances at the church hall, to see the cast of 30 parishioners romp through a script written by church members themselves. Another 10 people were involved behind the scenes, and the costumes and scenery were made by church members who also printed the tickets themselves. The pantomime was produced by Muriel Atkinson.
